MCATS™ Web PageMCATS™ is a Microsoft® Access® database application designed specifically for professionals in the entertainment industry who manage and/or book entertainment artists such as bands, singers, solo pianists, impersonators, disc jockeys, clowns, magicians, speakers, story tellers, etc.
MCATS™ was developed in 1996 by Doug McAlexander of Arsis Productions to manage the booking schedule for the popular MIXED COMPANY suite of private event and corporate showbands and Elvis impersonator Mark Puette.
MCATS™ allows the entertainment professional to track an event from the time the first contact is made with the client to the follow-up information after the event takes place. There is a very concise CONTACTS form to enter information about the client, the type of event, and the artist requested. MCATS™ has a CALLS database to track the date and time a call is received, the subject of the call, and even details about the conversation. MCATS™ will automatically prompt you for follow-up calls.
MCATS™ will create artist contracts, client contracts, and itineraries (complete with directions) automatically with a simple mouse click.

MCATS™ runs as an application under Microsoft® Access®97 or later, for Windows®95, 98, 2000, XP, Vista, 7,or later.
We developed MCATS™ for internal use only, since nothing like it was availale on the market. As we used MCATS™ to conduct our day to day business, other professionals, inquired about the software we were using, wondering how they might purchase it. The contracts, performance itineraries, booked dates reports, available artist reports, etc., were very impressive to look at and they contained just the right information in an easy to read format.
Our primary business focus is booking and management of entertainment professionals, but we considered the requests seriously. MCATS™ has made our office operate very efficienctly. There is virtually no paperwork needed to run our office, except signed performance agreements and promotional literature. The program is especially appealing to artists in the music industry, but MCATS™ is easily adaptable for use by clowns, magicians, storytellers, balloonists, and just about anyone who needs to get a handle on the booking and management process. An artist needs to focus their time on the art, not running an office. MCATS™ keeps the time in the office to a minimum while at the same time reducing human error.One particular feature that has saved the embarrassment of forgetting to call a client back is the automatic callback prompt. Each business day we are prompted automatically as to which follow-up calls are scheduled for that day. The list can be printed out and checked off during the day to track closure. Even if we forget to schedule a callback, MCATS™ automatically schedules a follow-up call for 14 days after the last conversation with the client. There have been several occasions where this feature made the difference. By prompting us, MCATS™ has been responsible for several bookings that might have been lost due to lack of follow-up. Have you ever had that happen? The sad truth is that you may not even know, or by the time you realize it, the client has booked elsewhere. NOTE: As with most features in MCATS™, the 14 day automatic callback period can be changed to any number of days the user wishes.
